ABOUT US

Sean McCulley CEO Mudturtle Theatrical, Inc

Sean has been in broadcast television and video production for 35 years. He has thousands of hours directing live concerts and events for global satellite feeds. He’s also created hundreds of videos for corporate, government and non-profit clients through his company, Mudturtle Media, LLC. The non-profit work has the most meaning for him and includes projects covering human trafficking, orphaned children, medical and health outreach and disaster relief. These projects exposed Sean to needs in places around the world including India, Nepal, Jamaica, Honduras, Costa Rica, Okinawa, Guam, as well as throughout the United States and Canada.

Documentary work is also in his repertoire, having been an editor and production manager on the original “The Conscientious Objector” film, which became the basis for the Academy Award winning film, “Hacksaw Ridge” as well as other documentary series.

Currently, Sean's non-profit work includes a boarding school for Native American children in Holbrook, Arizona and community colleges throughout California. His documentary work has him venturing to Vietnam in 2024.

Sean acted in and directed theater productions in his college years.  It seemed inevitable since he was raised in a theater environment owing to his mother, a theater director, costumer, and performer and his father, an actor, stage manager and prop master in television for such shows as Carol Burnett and Maude. Sean's father also worked on shows through out the major theaters in Los Angeles including Hollywood Pantages Theater, Shrine Auditorium, Pasadena Playhouse, Hollywood Bowl, Ahmanson Theatre, Mark Taper Forum and Dorothy Chandler Pavilion.

Moving to Fillmore has been on Sean’s mind for several decades. Although a resident of Thousand Oaks for almost 20 years, Sean moved to Santa Clarita in 2008. One of his regular video clients, Chumash Casino Resort in Santa Ynez, had Sean driving through Fillmore every week. And each week the desire to move to Fillmore became stronger. Finally, in 2019, the circumstances were right and him and his wife, Connie, purchased a home in Fillmore. They moved in June 2020. Since then, Sean joined the Fillmore Rotary Club and is now a board member.
